Whales Working Together to Communicate
Fin Wales communicate through vocalizations. They produce low frequency sounds that range from 16 to 40 Hz, outside of hearing range for humans. These high frequency sounds have been recorded and are believed to be used for communication between nearby fin whales. Studies have shown whales have used counter calling to get information from other whales about surroundings and food availability.
